Change starts from within and yoga is a powerful way to transform by reconnecting with yourself on the mat. The lessons we learn in yoga are tools that we can transport into our external worlds. Flexibility is adaptability. Strength is endurance and perseverance embodied. And breath control (pranayama) is a way to harness control over moods and emotions. All these skills are incredibly valuable as we negotiate our way through the inevitable ups and downs of life.

I have witnessed some dramatic transformations in students who have come into yoga and it’s a thing of beauty. Weight loss, renewed confidence, happiness, emotional stability, you name it. While there are other vehicles for self realisation and empowerment, yoga is special because it operates on a physical, mental and spiritual plane, something you rarely get in other activities.
